An unused idea, I liked too much to throw away.
Not everything needs a case study. A selection of identities, websites and other bits I've made over the years and still rather like.
Identity and website for a recruitment company specialising in the creative industries.
Identity for an electronic music project.
An unused idea, I liked too much to throw away.
Identity for my old design blog. The nh also happens to give you the finger.
Property identity built around a V drawn from architectural cornicing.
Unused healthcare identity, with a bone hidden in the negative space.
Identity and website for a series of creative retreats and events.
I developed the identity around a musical stave, extending the device across the site's visual language and iconography, then designed and built the website using the Mono Solutions platform (where I was working at the time).
Identity for my freelance design practice while living in Latvia.
After moving to Latvia in 2013, I set up a small freelance practice called East — mostly because I'd moved east and liked the name. The identity combined a simple east-pointing compass mark with geometric patterns loosely inspired by traditional Baltic folk design.
Identity for an independent Glasgow record label.
An unused idea for a 5-person consultancy team.
A long-forgotten property tool identity.
A nightclub event logo.
Website design for an independent Scottish spirits producer.
Some of these were substantial projects. Some were tiny ones. Some were used for years and some never made it beyond an idea I happened to like.
They don't all need a story.
They're here because I still think they're worth looking at.
