* That might mean branding and identity design. It might mean creative strategy. It might mean website design and build, marketing or sales materials design. It might mean product design, it might mean graphic design, heck it might even mean audio identity or copywriting.
So whether it’s a full product redesign and design system, a complete rebrand from the ground up or a completely new creative direction, that’s where I come in.
From 2017-2024 I was Founding Designer/Creative Director at Brainnwave.
Within my first year, I redesigned the core product, helping the company achieve over £1m in customer sales. I rebranded the company with a fresh corporate image and helped the company secure £1m in further seed funding, and in 2019, I reworked the core platform to make it relevant for a new joint venture partner helping to secure a $10m Series A investment.
Alongside our core platform, Brainnwave was developing Mosaic SSI - a smart solution to business classification. I was responsible for the Mosaic brand identity as well as the core product design.
I also run a number of projects currently in my spare time. All of which I have been designing and branding.
Most recently, Alex Paints - a growing YouTube channel which hit 10,000 subscribers in just a few months. Branding, web, social, merch and video have all been involved.
Since 2006 I have been releasing electronic music. Most recently under the Stillhead alias. This project has always required creative direction, branding, web, social and graphic design. There is also a record label I have been running called Cut, which has also required brand, graphic and website design.
Prior to Brainnwave I spent a year in Copenhagen working as Senior Designer at Mono Solutions, a product company. Before that I was freelance (under the banner of east) for 3 years solving design and brand related problems for many clients and investors. While freelance I also branded and hosted a club night.
From 2010-2013 I was Head of Design for QueryClick, a search marketing agency. During that time I rebranded the company and rolled out creative and design services as an offering for our clients.
I was even brought back on 3 years later to do more brand design work for a new suite of tools.
Before QueryClick I worked as a designer for a digital agency called Line. While there I won a number of awards for visual design including my work for Digital Podge and IKEA.
In my 20 years as a designer I have also designed many other logos and branding projects, loads of websites and recently an little bit of fun with a fake coffee brand.
